Balvac is a leading specialist civil engineering and building refurbishment contractor undertaking specialist civil engineering on civil structures and buildings throughout the UK. We operate mainly as a Principal Contractor, on schemes ranging from a few thousand pounds to multi-million pound projects, and we have a broad portfolio of specialist skills and capabilities unmatched by our competitors.
We operate in all main market sectors, including highways, rail, power, utilities, public and private commercial, marine, industrial and heritage, and we have successfully delivered a large number of technically demanding projects for a range of the UK’s leading clients.
We have a number of business streams, organised to provide customer-focussed expertise in a range of operations and business areas:
Projects – operating as Principal Contractor on projects from £50k to £5m, involving the repair, strengthening and refurbishment of buildings, car parks, bridges, power stations, marine structures and heritage buildings and structures.
Post Tensioning . Balvac undertakes the design, installation and monitoring of post-tensioning systems on new build bridges, office buildings, car parks, and circular tanks and silos. Balvac undertakes the monitoring of PT installations and can carry out tendon replacement and vacuum grouting of tendon ducts.
Specialist Services . Our directly-employed, fully-trained skilled operatives undertake vacuum-assisted resin injection, leaksealing, structural repairs, installation of cathodic protection systems, composite strengthening, sprayed concrete and vacuum void grouting.

Balvac has CHAS safety accreditation, is registered on Constructionline for a range of civil engineering and building activities up to £5m in value, and has Link-UP approval for a range of activities for the rail industry
