In 2006 Balvac has made significant improvements in Health and Safety performance and introduced a number of safety initiatives across the business.
2006 has been another successful year for Balvac in the management of health and safety.
Safety Awards:
In 2006 Balvac received The RoSPA Gold Medal Award for 6 years of consecutive Gold Awards. Balvac was also awarded the British Safety Council International Safety Award, for our commitment to continually improving health and safety in the company.
Safety Quizzes:
Balvac had particular success this year in the various safety quizzes we have taken part in. The Balavac team won a HSEQ quiz held for partners of the Construction Management Framework in the Midlands. Also, Balvac came second in the BBCEL HSEQ quiz, loosing to the winners by one point in a closely fought contest.
Take Care Campaign:
This year the Take Care Campaign, aimed at increasing staff awareness of Behavioural Safety, has been gathering momentum. The initiative is further developing our ability to recognise and prevent accidents, as reflected in the drop in minor accidents in 2006. Balvac has appointed two 'Take Care Champions', their role is to ensure that the Take Care Campaign and information on Behavioural Based Safety is communicated to all site personnel and understood
The Safety Performance of staff and operatives has been excellent during 2006. We look forward to reporting on further successes in 2007.
