Environmental Management System

Balvac operates a rigorous Environmental Management System which has reached the highly regarded ISO 14001 standard.

We focus heavily on the potential environmental impact of our operations and we employ various measures to control, minimise and, where possible, eliminate any hazards. 

The system contains the following key features:

• Waste minimisation plan
• Environmental Risk identification, assessment and control
• Staff and operative training
• Site based environmental briefings for operatives and sub-contractors

Examples of effective environmental management include:

• Environmental Management Plan agreed with English Nature for inspection operations in closed rail tunnels, habited with bats.
• Use of Hydro-demolition process to minimise the effects of noise, vibration and dust generation in breaking-out concrete at a car park in Wolverhampton.
