Our People

We have a dedicated team of directly-employed and experienced staff which include site-based engineers, foremen and contract supervisors, contract managers, quantity surveyors, estimators accounts staff and administration staff. Our skilled operatives and chargehands have specialist skills and experience in a variety of techniques, all operatives receive site safety inductions, technical briefings and specific product and skills training. We operate an operative appraisal system where regular assessment is made of skills and competency to enable suitable match selection of skills to projects.

We target 100% CSCS skills accreditation throughout our operational staff and workforce.

We have a cross-section of professional staff with membership of professional organisations such as the Institution of Civil Engineers, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Builders.

At Balvac we are especially proud of the level of commitment staff show towards the business; we have a very low turnover of staff and a high proportion have been with Balvac for 20 years and over.
